Getting Started

Welcome to Portweaver!

Portweaver is a centralized on-prem web server for managing hardware, user access, and system configuration across your network.

This guide walks through the complete process of getting from deployment to a full implementation.

Start by deploying Portweaver in your environment:

After deployment, Portweaver must be initialized locally:

This step includes:

  • Logging in with the default admin account
  • Changing the admin password
  • Unlocking full system access

Once access is established, configure system access:

From here you can:

  • Create additional users
  • Assign account roles
  • Configure password requirements/enforce MFA

Before devices can be added, they must be configured for secure API access:

Each device must support:

  • HTTPS (SSL)
  • REST API access
  • SSH access

Once prepared, devices can be onboarded. This process includes:

  • Adding device credentials
  • Selecting the correct driver
  • Establishing API and SSH connectivity

After initial setup, you can:

  • Monitor device health and activity
  • Manage users and permissions
  • Review audit logs
  • Configure security policies

Additionally, Portweaver includes a built-in backup system for saving the application state:
